Schnibble Done!!
I used an older Moda collection called “Freebird” by MoMo, and a more subdued fabric for the background to tone it down a bit!!
Very bright colors and a fun modern print.
I used a two stash fabrics for the outer border and the backing!! LOVE those colorful letters!
But, I want to share an AWESOME app I read about on “I’m a Ginger Monkey” blog.
I downloaded it yesterday and cannot stop playing with it!!
It’s called “Waterloque” and is $2.99 on ITunes App store and will quickly turn your photos into lovely watercolor paintings!!
Aren’t these pix of Yogiboy just AMAZING!!??
So, what are you doing this weekend for fun??

Schnibbling Along…
I’ve been sewing on my Schnibble of choice for February! Someone was being very anti-social that day, huh?
This month we got to choose the Schnibble we make! YAY!!
So, I went through my Schnibble pattern collection, and decided on one I’d never made called “Mon Ami”.
I used 2 charm packs from an older collection from Moda called “Freebird” by MoMo. Very fun and bright!
I quilted it with a simple stipple all over. We’ve got bee on Friday, so I’ll sew down the binding by hand at bee, and post photos after that!!
I had a little pile of tiny leftover half-square triangle blocks after I finished the Schnibble pieced border.
I always feel so tortured about throwing out even tiny blocks like these… so I didn’t!!
I made a little zippy bag from them! Sooo much better than throwing them out, right?? Do you save orphan blocks?
What have you been working on this week?
P.S. Just in case you haven’t heard about this cool sweepstake from Keepsake Quilting , you could win FABRIC FOR LIFE!!! Woo hoo!!
Click HERE to go to the contest page!! You can enter every day for more chances to win!! :-)

Make a Wish and Blow!
I was at our wonderful LQS, Suzzie’s Quilt Shop, a few weeks ago and fell in love with this Martha Negley floral fabric… she is one of my favorite designers!!
I found several fabrics in the shop that coordinated well with it, too!! My sister, Sally, bought me this one!
Even though the colors in the fabrics are not used in my house anywhere, I still found a few in my stash to go with them, too!!
And I had this cool pattern in my collection that I’d never made before, called “Easy Does It” by Darlene Zimmerman, so I just HAD to get right on that!!
I am soooo happy with the final result!!!
This quilt is so pretty!! I quilted it all over with a leaf motif!!
And I pieced the backing using up the leftover fabrics! And I like that, too!!
Now I’m working on my Schnibble for February!!
What are you up to this weekend??? Yogi’s not working on much… LOL!!

“SNOW”-chi in Virginia!!
We got about 18” of snow last night.
That might be the norm for some places,
but not here in northern Virginia!!
And they tell us we will get more late afternoon!! YIKES!!
As long as the power stays on, we can do this!!
Guess who couldn’t care less??

Landscape Quilt Class
I took a "Picture Piecing" Workshop on Saturday through our local quilt guild!
These are some of their quilts they brought to share with us!!
The two teachers, Maggie Ward and Rosanne Williamson, were wonderful!
Their method uses freezer paper… the same method taught by Ruth McDowell.
These are the samples of the quilt they taught us to make.
This is mine!
Next time I’ll make better fabric choices!!
I really enjoyed the class!
The other ladies there were so nice and fun to chat with as we sewed!!
The Dog TV channel has a free preview weekend going on now. I put it on for Yogi this morning when I left to go to the grocery store… he’s tired of the Olympics!! LOL!!

Clothes for Betsy!
My dear friend Linda, just got a new Bernina 750 sewing machine and she is so happy and excited!!!
So, I had to make her new machine, Betsy, a pretty cover to keep the dust off!!
I had some awesome scraps leftover from the “She Who Sews” quilt, so I used them!!
She doesn’t have Betsy sunk down into a new sewing leaf in the big studio table yet, so I had to sort of guess the size according to the machine dimensions.
But it seems to fit fairly well!!! YAY!!
Happy Birthday, dear Linda!!
Yogi was really closely supervising me while I made it!! LOL!!
What are you up to this weekend???
