Sewing, Finally!!

I still have quite a bit  more  straightening up to do and boxes to open down in the basement, but just needed to take a few days off!!

I am storing some things under my HQ Sweet 16 machine table, so I made a gathered skirt and velcroed it onto the bottom recessed edge.

It hides all the stuff stored under there and looks so much better!

The “Quilt It” banner still has not been found…sigh…

I’m thinking I need some sort of small colorful valance over the top of my new white wood blinds in there…

But, I selected the two charm packs to make the August Schnibble and spent a few hours cutting the pieces, and even assembled one basket block!

Yogi seemed very happy to be back up on my sewing table!!

He gets such good sleep to the vibrations of my sewing machine…

and sounds of Downton Abbey on the TV!!  My sewing room is finally open!!

Where Could It Be????

I am sooooooo annoyed with myself!!  Arrrggghhhhh!!

I have been trying to finish up my sewing room and have looked everywhere all day for this little quilted wall banner! 

I have the perfect place to put it in my new room!

Dagnabbit!!  :-(

I simply cannot imagine where it could possibly be!! 

I have looked EVERYWHERE!!!

Does this EVER happen to you???  GRRRRRRR!  :-(

Getting There….slowly

Guess what this is?

The last box of sewing room stuff!!  YAAAYYY!!!

My new sewing room is still not finished…

but it’s getting there!!

The blinds should be installed tomorrow and we finally hung the kitchen island pendant lights yesterday!!  Woo hoo!! 

Yogi is settling in really well!! 

This neighborhood has lots of dogs for him to meet and greet!!

Boxes Galore

Still alive over here… still opening and unpacking and putting away boxes!

I did get the library boxes all emptied!!

I have always wanted a library!!

My husband finally finished with his boxes in the office… although there are several file cabinets he still needs to go through and place in his new file drawers.  I can’t wait to get the new window blinds and shades!!

Just today, I bought some new silk plants for the tops of the kitchen cabinets and oak TV unit.

And I found the perfect little schefflera tree for the Italian pot in the morning room!

Now that all the boxes on the first floor are finally gone, it’s time to start in on my sewing room upstairs…

SCARY, huh?  Even Yogi doesn’t want to go in there!!

It can only get better, right?

Boxed In!

The last few days have been chaotic tiring and endless!!!  The closing on the new house went off without a hitch, then the real work began!!

Thank goodness for my two strong tireless sons and their girls!!  They helped move us from the apartment and storage unit to the new house on Saturday and Sunday.

I must have emptied over 50 boxes and I think they multiply when you’re not looking!!

The family room, kitchen and morning room (our only dining area) are finally devoid of boxes.  Most things are in place…but lots of decorating and some accent wall painting to come! 

Yogi seems quite at home already!!

Yogi Meets the New House

We brought Yogi over to the new house for a few hours last night.

After exploring all around, he settled down, but keep an us in sight at all times!  I think he will be just fine as soon as all our things are moved in here!!

And that’s happening tomorrow!!  It will be a longggggggggggg day!!
