February Mini Finished!!

This month’s “Schnibble” Group project was an adorable mini Union Jack quilt by Fig Tree Co!!

I really love this design!  I had some Somerset fat quarters…

and a few others from my stash that I combined for this quilt!

It was a slightly tedious block to put together.

Mine certainly are not perfect in any way at all…

but I do love them all put together!!

I think the colors are going to look perfect with my summer decor later this year!!

Yogi is very excited to announce that one of his most favorite people in the world, aka my dear daughter-in-law Leah,

Keeping Busy!

We are expecting 6-8” of snow tonight, so tomorrow we’ll be socked in- perfect for sewing!

I fell in love with this leaf quilt from Fig Tree Quilts, and I loved it in her Somerset collection.

It’s a jelly roll quilt, which I LOVE, as cutting is my least favorite part of quilting!

It was a fun block to put together!  Super easy, too!

The brown stems were put on with fusible then I blanket stitched around the edges.

I did make the quilt one row shorter than the pattern, and it still was a really large lap quilt!

I used three of the extra leaf block to make a small table runner for my foyer table.

I used the last leftover block to make a pillow cover for the library. 

I also had many jelly roll strips leftover, so I cut them into squares and made a square table mat!

Really love these fabrics!!  The design is somewhat fallish,

but I think it will be perfect to put out in September!!

Tomorrow I’ll be sewing on some birthday gifts for bee friends!!  Can’t show you those, though!!  They read my blog, too!!

Do you belong to a bee?

I sure hope so!

I belong to several and they are such fun!

We share our love of fabric and all things quilty, but also so much more!!  They are my DEAREST friends!  :-)

I have a big bag I made last year that I take to bee when I have a quilt to bind!  It’s quite large with plenty of room to carry most any size quilt.

But I often do not have a quilt to bind at bee, so I needed a much smaller bag to carry my ongoing hand work projects to bee.

So, I made this one last week with some Sewing Box scraps leftover from several previous projects!

It’s the perfect size for my current wool stitchery project and my Sew Together bag with all my thread and such needed for the project!!

So Yogi wants to know all about the bee you are a member of!!  Do tell!!

Fun Sewing!

After the eight solid days of sewing it took to finish the school quilt, I was ready for some fun sewing!!

I’ve seen this cool “Sew Together Bag” all over the internet on tons of blogs, so I bought the pattern at Craftsy and got  busy.

I must admit, the first one , which I was making for a dear friend’s birthday, took me a whole lot longer than I expected.

Thank goodness for the internet!  I Googled it and found a Sew-A-Long on it from last year with lots of great instructional photos!!

I really do love the design and so I used some scraps to make myself one, too!!  I had two pewter charms in my button box- a thimble and a sewing machine, that I used for zipper pulls on the outside!

My friend Linda is using hers for her hexie sewing supplies and I am using mine for my wool stitchery supplies!!

I’m writing this while my husband and I watch the super Bowl.  Neither team is our fav, so just watching it for the commercials and half-time show!

So, which is your favorite commercial from Super Bowl?  So far, mine is the Budweiser Clydesdales and the puppy!!  Yogi likes it, too!
