The house is coming along!!

They’ve put on the front porch roof.  And they’ve begun some of the brick work!

The inside is getting wired and vented!

Soon they will start putting up the dry wall!!

And while they are busy working on the house, I a busy working on a kit I bought at least 8 years ago!!

It contains instructions and material for 2 separate wall quilts.

The first one is a screened window with a ivy hanging down and

a window box of flowers below.

I never back quilts with muslin, but that is what came as backing in the kit, so I did this time.

And looking at the quilting from the back side is fun, as you can easily see the wood grain and leaves!

It’s a Nancy Zeiman kit, and her method is interesting.  She does not use fusible for the little flowers and leaves.  She uses a glue stick!

“Soul”ful Table Set

I bought 2 packs of charm squares from Amy Butler’s “Soul Blossoms” collection on Etsy a while back.

I already made a quilt from a jelly roll of this collection a few years back…

But I really love these fabrics in these colors!!

So, I had to buy a bit more and make something else!!

The colors and modern design will be a perfect fit in my new house!!

So, I made a set of six simple placemats

and a small table runner.

The backing fabric is a feather print from Martha Negley, another favorite designer!

And these fabrics really begged for some orange, too!

Coming Along Nicely!!

We are thrilled at how quickly the new house construction is coming along!

The walls are wrapped.  The windows are in.

The doors are in! The front porch slab is poured!  Yay! 

We had a meeting on-site with the wiring people!  The fireplace in in!  YAY!

I’m working on placemats and a table runner from some Amy Butler “Love” charm squares.
