I have this Snoopy flag that I put out the night before I had to go back to work at school at the end of each August. It’s faded over time, but still cherish it and use it every year!!
I’ll be putting it out today as well as putting my summer decor away and bringing out all my school decor! After 34 years teaching, I have lots!!
But I must admit, I am soooo very glad to be retired from teaching now! I think Yogi likes that I’m home all day with him, too!!
As you surely know by now,…
I just retired from teaching this past June! Two months ago!
I taught special education kiddos with intellectual disabilities for 34 years.
So I’ve been given and also have collected lots of teacher and school knick knacks over the years.
And this past month I made some new school themed quilts to the mix as well.
So all my summer stuff has been packed away in tubs in the
storage room in our basement for another year and the school décor is out!!
I have a few teacher dolls…
and a few student dolls.
Lots of chalkboards…
and tons of apples!!
A few school busses…
and some wonderful sayings …
and cross stitches. And lots of little school houses!
I still have enough school fabrics and panels in my stash to make a few more quilts.
But it will have to wait now until next summer. See the napping Yogiboy on the couch?

I really enjoyed making the Schnibble for this month.
I’ve not pieced sashing before so it was a new experience!

So, it fits right in with my September school décor!

There’s not a quilt anywhere he doesn’t want to get up on!!
I like to take the photos out on the deck in natural light, and he loves to snooze out there!!

I wanted some new school themed throw pillows for my couch and two chairs in the family room…
so, I took some teacher tote bags I had for years and ripped them apart,
backed them with some fun teacher prints from my stash and made 4 pillows!!
