A Very Busy Month!

May just absolutely whizzed by, don't you think so??  Maybe it just seems that way to me, as I was soooo busy finishing up the UFO's on my list... which by the way, I DID finish!!  Every one of the 20 UFO's on my list!  Yay!!  And here are some of them!!

This quilt has been on my bucket list since I first saw it!! Bright Birches!!

I love everything about it!  The colors, the design!! Everything!

I think Connecting Threads might have a kit for it!!  I also really like the fabric I found in my stash for the backing!

I made this Dr. Seuss quilt for the nursery room we have here in our house 

for the grandbabies to use when they come to visit!!

Remember my first and only grandbaby so far, Neal?  He is on the verge of crawling... such a cutie with a million dollar smile!!

This quilt is my first from a Moda Frivol!  

The fabric is Bread and Butter by American Jane...

gosh I love her fabrics, don't you??!!

This quilt was so fun to make!  

I've always wanted to make a bear claw quilt!!

Our last guild meeting of this year was on June 1st.  So, as this was my last meeting as president, I had lots of people to thank- all my board members and committee chairs!

So, I made 30 of these little hexie shaped bee pin cushions.

The recipients seemed to like them!!  Yay!!  

They are filled with crushed walnut shells, not polyfil! 

So, Yogi is plodding along.  Every day with him is a gift!  And we both want to know what you are working on these days?

Can you believe this little guy is 14 today??

He really doesn’t show his age in photos.

But he has arthritis in his hips and knees, so his age shows sometimes when he walks! :-(

Yogi is the only Westie we’ve ever had.

Westie is the short name for his breed-

the West Highland White Terrier.

So, we thought how clever he was to tilt his head back and forth when listening to someone talk. 

Then we saw the Westie on the Little Caesar dog food commercial on TV do the same thing!!

All Westies do it!!  LOL!!

But he is, without a doubt, the smartest dog we’ve ever had!

And the most stubborn!  Grrr!

He hates squirrels with a passion… and rabbits!

He loves sweets like cake and cookies… dunked in coffee!

He has baked chicken almost every night mixed in with his dry food…

but loves, Loves, LOVES hamburger and steak!!

So, tonight on his birthday, he will get some!!

He is a great lover of quilts. 

As my bee friends will all tell you from personal experience,

you put a quilt down on my floor and he is ON IT in no time!!

I think I have more photos of him than of my kids and hubby!!

You must admit, he a cutie patootie!!

Snow Days

Hopefully today’s snow storm will be our  LAST  this winter!!

Next Sunday we “spring forward” and change the clocks, so surely spring is on the way, right?

Well, I just finished this quilt kit I bought from Keepsake Quilting over a year ago!

The pattern is called Snow Days by Hen Scratch Quilting.  I am soooo pleased with how it came out!

The fabrics are so perfect for the design!

I really enjoyed making the little houses!!  All those fabrics have  little white dots that perfectly depict falling snow!!

And the tree fabric with the little birds is just so perfect to go between the houses.

The quilting was fun, too. 

I wanted it to look like a wind blowing the snow around!!

I had bought a flannel to put on the back, but it was too bright…sigh

Then I found this Alexander Henry snowman fabric in my stash!!  Woo hoo!  A match!!

It looks great on my blue chair in the library!!

OK.  Yogi says NOW it’s TIME for SPRING!
