Hopefully today’s snow storm will be our LAST this winter!!
Next Sunday we “spring forward” and change the clocks, so surely spring is on the way, right?
Well, I just finished this quilt kit I bought from Keepsake Quilting over a year ago!
The pattern is called Snow Days by Hen Scratch Quilting. I am soooo pleased with how it came out!
The fabrics are so perfect for the design!
I really enjoyed making the little houses!! All those fabrics have little white dots that perfectly depict falling snow!!
And the tree fabric with the little birds is just so perfect to go between the houses.
The quilting was fun, too.
I wanted it to look like a wind blowing the snow around!!
I had bought a flannel to put on the back, but it was too bright…sigh
Then I found this Alexander Henry snowman fabric in my stash!! Woo hoo! A match!!
It looks great on my blue chair in the library!!
OK. Yogi says NOW it’s TIME for SPRING!
Oh my goodness, this is just the most stunning 'winter' quilt I have ever seen!
ReplyDeleteI love your little house quilt. The fabrics are perfect and you did a great job with the quilting. This is a perfect addition to your stunning quilt collection....congratulations!
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous house quilt ! Love it :-D
ReplyDeleteOh. My. Gosh. I am in LOVE with that quilt!! Great job! Now if you could just make the snow go away. I just measured almost 8" on my deck. Yuk.
ReplyDeleteThat is SO Cute!! And very appropriate for the winter you've had so far. It was -6 early this morning here in eastern SD but the sun is shining and it is nearly 30. 50s by the weekend, so I'm hoping for a little taste of spring too. Not that we could expect spring to stay around this early here in the upper midwest, but it's nice while it lasts.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is gorgeous, Polly.
ReplyDeleteLove your house quilt and the fabrics are so pretty. Cute Yogi waiting for spring. Hopefully it is just around the corner!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that quilt and your quilting!! Always amazes me how easy you make it look! That Yogi is so adorable and always love seeing his pictures. They are such amazing little dogs (I know, I had one!).
ReplyDeleteThat beautiful quilt almost makes winter seem great. LOL I do hope spring arrives soon. Our winter has been pretty mild in terms of snow but lots of really cold days. At least it seems like it. This week we had to cave in and take Titan to the groomer. He looked like a mop with legs. Now he looks like a Westie puppy. LOL
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful winter quilt ... I love it.
ReplyDeleteI do hope spring arrives quickly, you folks in US have had an extreme winter. Yogi is wanting to go outdoors:)
That is such a cute quilt! And the tree fabric with the little red birds is just the right fabric to set those house blocks in a perfect winter scene. Good Job!
ReplyDeletePolly, I love that quilt. I just realized that it is a pattern done by Janet Locey. Janet and I have been going to the same retreat in California for 20 some years. Wow, small world!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilt and I love your snowmen backing...
ReplyDeleteI know you are over the snow but I love seeing those beautiful photos. It's sooooooo hot here.
This quilt is stunning, the fabrics are so perfect. I so enjoy your blog, thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDelete0h, that is a beautiful winter quilt with the perfect choice of fabrics. I love it. I hope your Spring arrives soon but it will be a shame to put the quilt away when the weather changes.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt -- so perfect with your weather. We, in the Pacific NW, are having great weather but we are worried about a drought this summer! I also love your new header with Yogi's photo. He is so stinkin' cute!
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt. Perfect fabrics for the quilt.
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt !! We had that fabric in the shop I work at. Always liked it. A perfect winter quilt.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you! The fabric is just perfect for your lovely quilt!
ReplyDeleteSo perfect for this winter! Surely spring is on it's way--the stores are selling bikinis and the ice cream shop is open again!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is great. Love the fabrics! We, in NC, are so ready for Spring. I will really make an effort not to complain when it is hot this summer>
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt! The fabrics are perfect, it looks like the wind is blowing and the snow is swirling! The back is really cute too :) I love the view out your back window. I grew up in snow country, but haven't experienced much since I've been married. I miss going for walks at night all bundled up, in a snowstorm. I always thought it was so cozy!
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt, please can you tell me what fabrics you used thank you
