I have been totally engrossed these last few weeks since I last posted, in getting back on both knees/feet. I’m still going to PT twice a week and doing lots of exercises to ensure I get full mobility on both new knees.

I’m mastering my stairs , so I have spent some well deserved and needed time in the sewing room!
My dear Daddy just turned 95!! So, I made him a new quilt, which I can’t show you yet, as he reads my blog and I’ve not given it to him yet.
My sister and her friend are driving both my parents up to northern Virginia from central Florida the week after Christmas! We all can’t wait to see them!! They’ve never seen our house here in Haymarket!
I also made some new fun Christmas placemats. I love this design using a disappearing nine-patch with some cute modern prints.
The rickrack adds allot and the backing is an old Daisy Kingdom print!!
I made myself a new tote bag for guild from scraps leftover from The Sewing Box collection.
I made two new throw pillow covers for the library for December!!
One in red and one in lime green!!
So, I do promise I’m keeping busy and as pain free as possible!!
Yogi wants to know how you all are doing and what’s keeping you busy these days!!
Cute, cute, cute placemats! Great idea. Happy Birthday to your sweet Dad, and hope you have a great visit!
ReplyDeletePolly, all your sewing is just fabulous and that shelf unit for your fabric is just delicious! What intrigues me most right now though is those xrays of your knee! I'm in my first med-surg rotation of nursing school and tomorrow is my turn in the operating room where I will get to closely observe whatever orthopedic surgeries happen. I'm so excited and hope I can see a surgery like what you had! Take care of yourself and your new joints!

The pillows are just too cute! Good to hear that you are nearly back to normal. Mastering the stairs is the best sign.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're doing so well and love what you've made in your sewing room:-) Right now I'm working on my FW blocks but lost my sewing mojo a bit ... hope it'll be back soon:-)
ReplyDeleteAm so glad to learn you are doing well! And keeping busy!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are doing better, and getting better each and every day.
ReplyDeleteYour projects are wonderful! Love how neat and organized your fabric stash is! The colors are super pretty in each little cubby. Yogi is such a cutie.
So glad you're on the mend Polly. Seasons greetings to you and gorgeous Yogi! Stephanie and super-fan Douglas the Westie in the UK. Xx
ReplyDeleteBeen there, done that with a knee replacement in both knees. Keep on exercising those knees and you will soon be doing those stairs well. We don't have stairs in our house so when we go somewhere that I have to climb stairs, I have to do it one step at a time and go slowly.
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing. I'd be whimpering on the couch and getting nothing done!
ReplyDeleteWow! You have been busy. Such lovely things you have made. Especially like the pillows.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're on the mend and I think a little sewing is great medicine! Love the placemats (need to find that pattern) and know your dad will love his birthday quilt! Keep up the exercise and hugs to Yogi.
ReplyDeleteI am happy to see your post. I've been checking, waiting for a post. So glad you are making progress with those knees! Love everything you've made especially the pillows. Yes, that backing is old, old but brought back memories seeing it!! I used it for something for my granddaughter when she was very small. Love how we are able to use fabric we have saved and enjoy it today!! My sister and I laugh that the only placemats we have ever made cost us $40! We refer to them, when we see them used, as the $40 placemats! Hi Yogi!
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy! I'm glad you're able to master the stairs - that is quite the accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear! Good therapy also happens in the sewing room!
