I’m Still Alive!!

I have been totally engrossed these last few weeks since I last posted, in getting back on both knees/feet.  I’m still going to PT twice a week and doing lots of exercises to ensure I get full mobility on both new knees.

I’m mastering my stairs , so I have spent some well deserved and needed time in the sewing room!

My dear Daddy just turned 95!!  So, I made him a new quilt, which I can’t show you yet, as he reads my blog and I’ve not given it to him yet.

My sister and her friend are driving both my parents up to northern Virginia from central Florida the week after Christmas!  We all can’t wait to see them!!  They’ve never seen our house here in Haymarket!

I also made some new fun Christmas placemats.  I love this design using a disappearing nine-patch with some cute modern prints.

The rickrack adds allot and the backing is an old Daisy Kingdom print!!

I made myself a new tote bag for guild from scraps leftover from The Sewing Box collection.

  2. Polly, all your sewing is just fabulous and that shelf unit for your fabric is just delicious! What intrigues me most right now though is those xrays of your knee! I'm in my first med-surg rotation of nursing school and tomorrow is my turn in the operating room where I will get to closely observe whatever orthopedic surgeries happen. I'm so excited and hope I can see a surgery like what you had! Take care of yourself and your new joints!

  8. Been there, done that with a knee replacement in both knees. Keep on exercising those knees and you will soon be doing those stairs well. We don't have stairs in our house so when we go somewhere that I have to climb stairs, I have to do it one step at a time and go slowly.

  11. So glad you're on the mend and I think a little sewing is great medicine! Love the placemats (need to find that pattern) and know your dad will love his birthday quilt! Keep up the exercise and hugs to Yogi.

  12. I am happy to see your post. I've been checking, waiting for a post. So glad you are making progress with those knees! Love everything you've made especially the pillows. Yes, that backing is old, old but brought back memories seeing it!! I used it for something for my granddaughter when she was very small. Love how we are able to use fabric we have saved and enjoy it today!! My sister and I laugh that the only placemats we have ever made cost us $40! We refer to them, when we see them used, as the $40 placemats! Hi Yogi!
