I hope you are savoring the season and enjoying your family and friends today!!
You and I wish you a very wondrous Christmas and a most blessed New Year!!
I held out until today to take the Christmas stuff down! Because I put out allot less this year than ever before, it didn’t take days to get it all down and packed up and put away!! Just today!! Yay!
But I am tired, all the same!! The day flew by! I also put out my snowmen and have decided on what to make next to hang over the mantle for the winter months!!
So stay tuned!! Hope your New Years was the best ever!!
(Peanuts cartoons are from Pinterest!)
I think my holiday ducks are all finally in a row at this point! Whew!! :-)
Gifts are wrapped and ready.
Fridge is full with the makings for our Christmas meals.
My husband is Italian, so our traditional meal for Christmas is meatballs and stuffed shells.
We’ve got waaay too many sweet breads and desserts sitting around… sigh…
Yogi has been groomed!! YAY!
We will attend 8:00pm Mass tonight so we can sleep in tomorrow morning!!
I never showed you some of the things I made last month and this month. This was a gift to my parents.
I thought the apple print could be used for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.
This table runner was for one of my dear sisters!
It was a bargello kit from Connecting Threads.
Here is the new tree skirt I made…
from some cute modern fabrics!
I also made a new table runner from the same cute fabrics!!
I love the addition of light and bright pink and lime green!!
I especially love the bright pink fabric with the white reindeer, don’t you?? The pattern is the disappearing nine patch!!
And this is the new wall quilt I made for over the mantle.
I strip pieced the trees from my scrap drawer. I named the quilt- “The Tree Lot”!!
Now, I’m already thinking about what to make to put up there…
when I put all the Christmas decor away next week…
some winter scene…
any ideas????
I pray you and yours will have a most wonderful Christmas…
full of squeezin’ hugs and warm kisses and a ton of special surprises!!
If only my husband had told me back in the summer or even in the fall that we would be putting our house up for sale in the week before Christmas…
Needless to say, the last 3 weeks have been a tad stressful. All I’ve done for the last three weeks is clean and clean out an throw out and reorganize and repair…while also trying to sew up Christmas presents. If I had known back a few months ago, I could have made the gifts then…sigh…
All the cleaning and lifting has thrown my back out and am feeling some sciatica… so not sleeping at night either…sigh
(Someone obviously has NO PROBLEM sleeping anywhere at anytime!!)
But I do have some stuff to show you… my list of things made in November and December has grown… but have not been able to show them to you as many are gifts to people who read my blog…
This is a jelly roll quilt for someone very dear.
I used this technique to make it!
A really fun system!!
I finished a UFO as a gift for my newly married son and his wife!
They like VERY modern décor, so thought it would be a good fit for them.
They had their first party as a married couple last weekend, so I gave it to them early so they could use it for Christmas decorating.
I remembered that there was one monthly Schnibble this year that I didn’t make… the one from February called “i.s.t.h.”.
So I made it up with a few changes to make it more to my liking…
It’s a gift, too! YAY!!
I made a little candle mat from a kit I’ve had for a while.
It’s tiny but cute!!
And last week, we had our master bedroom repainted a lovely perwinkle color, so I made a new king sized quilt.
And a matching bedskirt and three window valances, and to king sized pillow shams and a little matching throw pillow!!
The sign went up out in the front yard this morning…so it’s feeling real!! Wish me patience and luck in this selling process… because of Yogi, we are only showing it by appointment. So, when I get a call, I have to rush around and get the house in “staged” order, grab Yogi, jump in the car and drive out of sight around the block until they come and go!! PLUSSSS, I’ve got my family from Florida coming in 2 days after Christmas…
I can’t wait to see them!!! Just wish all the other stuff wasn’t going on right now!
Soooo, keep your fingers crossed for us, that it sells quickly and easily, OK??
I wonder how Yogi will adapt to a new house… two actually, because we’ll have to move into a temporary place or apartment until the new house is built… they say it will take about 6 months!! UGH!!
