This month is entirely reserved for making Christmas gifts for family and friends!
We had bee on Saturday at my dear friend Linda’s house! And although it was December 1st, it was actually our November bee, as we could not find a Saturday in November when we all could get together…
Wellll… I totally forgot that fact and freaked out and spent last week making my dear bee friends their Christmas gifts!!
I saw this adorable pattern in a catalog and ordered it just to make for them!!
I did change one little part, though.
There was a tiny pocket on the back in the middle which seemed sorta silly as it was too small to really be of any use.
And as I pictured my friends keeping Hootie on their ironing boards, I felt they needed a place to throw their bits and pieces of thread there…
So I changed the size and shape and location of the back pocket. I made it look more like a tail!
And gave it dimension so it would stay open to collect those thread pieces.
Sooooooo???? You like?
Are you frantically sewing gifts, too??

ReplyDeleteOh, how cute! I adore owls. LOL, I bought two today at Kohls for my tree....like I need more ornies. You always inspire me, Polly. I made the owl from Moda Bake Shop by Sandy Gervais and just love it. Her name, as Sandy calls her, is "Owl-ivia".
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm sewing. I'm trying to finish up a denim pieced ottman for our grandson. All the denim has been saved from family jeans through MANY years. I literally have a box of cut up denim squares from SO LONG !! I'm having fun making it.
In your last pic, Yogi is so cute cocking his head. He "out-cutes" the owls....LOL
Adorable and great fabric combinations. I love the blue fellow. I'd like to throw my request for the pattern name into the hat please!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Molly
