I totally fell in love with these modern veggie prints by Benartex called “Toss & Serve”.
I bought two packs of 6 1/2” squares and a bit of yardage.
I made 8 placemats and then used the leftover squares to make a small table mat.
I used the exploding block method from Jenny Doan’s tutorial to make the center of the placemats.
Then I sub-cut some squares and made smaller pinwheel blocks and added some rectangles in green from my stash.
I used a solid green on 4 placemats and a green print that looked like celery leaves on the other 4 placemats.
I made nine patches with a all the center squares being the solid green and sub-cut them into quarters to use the disappearing 9 patch design for the table mat.
I really love how they turned out!!
So bright and fun!! And the backing yardage also goes really well with the wall color in our morning room where we eat!!
So… what fun thing are you all doing this weekend?
Congratulations to Gene!
