Well, what a whirlwind July has been! My parents and middle sister, Cyndy, came for a 5 day visit over the July 4th holiday!
What fun we had!! Lots of good food and fun card games!! Both my sons and their sweet girlfriends were here most of the time, too. We had bodies on every bed and couch at night!!
I finally gave my dear Mother her Mother’s Day gift- a pretty peony quilt! I think she liked it!! It was certainly her colors!!
We had bee last Friday at Suzanne’s house!
I was binding a fall quilt I just quilted this past week but the top was made at the fall guild retreat last October…
forgot to get a separate photo of it all finished… but here it is in the design stage!
(Can you believe this enormous room is her sewing room???? It’s bigger than my family room!! Look at all that great light!)
But my bee friends were knee deep in Halloween fabrics! For those of you who have been following my blog for a while now, I’ve posted before about how Halloween is my most favorite holiday! And back when we lived in Florida, I had a after school craft business and made all my fall/winter dolls
and such to sell at the fall craft fairs during my summers off from teaching. So, come summer, I’m ready to pull out my fall fabrics and sew on something for Halloween!
Soooooo, after fondling all their great Halloween fabrics at bee, I just HAD to go home to my tiny sewing room and pull out all my Halloween fat quarter packs…
And as I have an Accuquilt GO! but have never blogged about using it, I thought it was high time to do so….and what is very HOT right now in quilts? Tumbler quilts!! So, I am taking pix as I make my Halloween tumbler quilt with my GO! and will post it soon!
Speaking of Accuquilt, they have launched a new photo challenge called “Bust My Stash” Photo Challenge.
They are encouraging quilters to snap a photo of their fabric stash and submit it to their Facebook page to win a GO! and a Mix n Match Starter Set of dies. The last day to submit a photo is on Friday, July 22nd. Voting will begin on Saturday, July 23rd and finish on Sunday, July 31st.
All photos will be visible on Facebook during this time and the photo with the most votes will win!
I have submitted this photo of my own stash closet to the contest, so please go here and vote for me!!
Make sure you enter your own stash photo here, too!! Such fun with a great prize!!
Be sure to check out the Moda Bake Shop tomorrow…shhhh! Just a little hint!! :-)
Your mothers quilt is beautiful. So glad she liked it.
ReplyDeleteWhat kills me is that not only is it July, but we're nearly halfway through it, too! YIKES! Loved seeing all your happy pictures. Your little fall wall hanging it darling! Where did the panel come from? It was too cute! Happy day! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Polly,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family you have. I love your Mom's quilt and all the pictures of Yogi.
I tried to vote for you but the message comes up that the link is incorrect.
I like your new "Blog" look too. And I can't wait for fall to arrive. Your Halloween quilt is wonderful.
Hugs
I am officially jealous of that sewing room - it's so huge and so many windows, well we all should have one like that I think! Good luck with the Accuquilt contest. blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us know about the contest. I love your stash!!
ReplyDeletePolly, you have such a great family. Know you love it when you can get a bunch of them together for a visit. I think four of my sewing room would fit in that one -- maybe more lol:) Love your mom's quilt. You can definitely see that she loves it! I haven't visited the bakeshop lately. I've already put it on tomorrows to do list.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your summer

Your stash is amazing. And so organized! I showed my husband and he asked if I was hoping for the same amount of fabric one day. Thankfully he did not panic when I nodded my head!!
ReplyDeleteYour mother's quilt is beautiful!
