Spring is all about turning the earth and planting the seeds, bulbs, flowers, etc. I love the smell of fresh turned earth. I love to see the new calves in the fields. I love to see the tulip trees, the pear trees, the plum trees any flowing tree and smell the essence of goodness from them. Today we plant potatoes and eat our traditional Irish meal of Corned Beef, Cabbage, Potatoes and Carrots. It is on the stove cooking slowly as we blog hop. Thanks for the op to win.

Gosh, your sewing room looks so neat...complete with your very own Westie! I'm a new follower. I love Virginia though I've only been there once. My family is from there in the 1700's....Orange County and the Germanna Colony of Old Culpeper County...Boughans, Walls and Fewells. My favorite spring ritual is raking out and uncovering the perennials after the winter's sojourn...seeing if the herbs made it through okay and watching for the earliest crocuses and robins. It's a great time. Do you read Gladys Taber at all?
ReplyDeleteYour sewing room is an inspiration! Thanks for showing it to us. My favorite spring "routine" is to get out in my garden and cleanup, plant, and dream. I'm a new follower. Thanks for the chance for the great books.
ReplyDeleteI am already a follower and big fan of Yogi!! Love, Cami
ReplyDeleteI am a follower of you and big Yogi! Our spring ritual is to gather the gear and the 4 yr old son over to his grandma and grandpa's house for an egg hunt. Lesson learned last year. Write down all locations, as sometimes grandma and grandpa need help remembering where the eggs were hidden. (At least they are plastic and not hard-boiled). You need to do that only once, and realize there is a funky smell by the shoe closet, that isn't a shoe. Found the hardboiled egg in my boot (had fallen off the shelf in the hunt). It had been in there from april till November. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteI love to spring clean. The smell of the house being all clean!! I sound like my mother, she would like that!! Thanks for the give away!!
ReplyDeleteOur Spring Ritual would be pulling out the camper and getting ready for our family summer fun!
ReplyDeleteI think spring is whole year at my country.I will do some cleaning on my garden and planting some vegetables.
ReplyDeleteI follow you
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower. And I look forward to planting the garden every spring and nurturing the plants to harvest. It's always a good feeling knowing that you're growing the food without chemicals and providing for your family in a healthy way.
ReplyDeleteWe lived for years across the road from a lake and every spring the ritual of watching the baby swans (I know they are called cygnets but "swanlings" sounds so much more romantic, don't you think?) These little cutties appeared with their severe and very present parents overseeing their every move. I never once got the chance to pick one up and cuddle..not even close! The wide flaring nostrils (well it looked flaring) and big red beaks were enough to keep my hands well out of reach. I saw others chased off the grounds with loud honks and huge flashes of black and white wings so those little puff balls were safe from my clutches. I had to be content to stroke them with my eyeballs instead!
