Sewing Seeds of Love

I saw this quilt kit in the new Hancocks-Paducah catalog and fell in love with it!!

I must admit, however, that I also looked for the kit online at www.quiltshops.com

and found it cheaper!!

I love the online shop I bought it from- Ft. Worth Fabric Studio!!

Their prices are good and their service is amazing!!  So fast!!

You can see how interested Yogi was during the cutting part… sigh… wish I could sleep so well!!

The pattern is a free one from Quilting Treasures.  Get it HERE!

I did change a few things, though!

DSCN2990

I thought it was weird that it had the look of a sampler design but two symmetrical blocks were the same and the other two symmetrical blocks were different…

DSCN2991

soooo… I made all 4 blocks different.

The next thing I changed was removing the red flange type mini border

and I changed the brown border to blue…

and added green corner stones!!

So, I am really pleased how it turned out!!

And I think now that it’s done and he can sit and lie on it, Yogi is liking it now, too!!

I quilted it all over with free motion leaves.

I love the backing fabric!!

  7. Hi, I found your blog a few weeks ago and have read through it front to back. I wanted to tell you that you've "caused" me to buy quite a bit of fabric and patterns because I was so inspired by quilts you've done. Two that quickly come to mind are are the Good Fortune houses using the Schnibbles pattern and your Moda Bakeshop design using Soul Blossoms by Amy Butler with the nifty chartreuse background (love that).

This looks like another trip to the virtual fabric store! I am amazed at how much you work you do!!! I mainly do machine embroidery and I get excited just to finish a pillow.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

  8. What a treasure - can understand why you love it. The pictures with Yogi just tug at my heart - the sweetness and love on his face reminds me so much of my Brady. Judy C in NC

  10. Love your blog, I will visit often. So happy to see you have a Westie, we have 2 aren't they the most lovable dogs?
And where did you get the script for the falling leaves? I use to do a lot of stationery with this effect but I'm having so much limitation with my blog site and would love some tips.
