I finished a new door quilt for my front door to use every September.
I named it “An apple for the Teacher”.
I used the curled apple pattern from an Art To Heart book by Nancy Halvorsen.
I love her stuff!! And this seems very modern to me!
Next, I’ll be making a new September quilt to hang over the mantle with a schoolhouse on it!

How cute is that? Love the swirls in the apples. I'm working on some Christmas stockings for a customer, trying to get them done and delivered early!

ReplyDeleteAnd I'm excited to say that there are two ladies who have asked me to make them quilts for people that are special to them, so I'm working on 2 small quilts...lol!
Oh I absolutely LOVE your wallhanging! How perfect is that. You used the best fabric ever! I have to look through all of my Nancy Halvorsen books and see if I have that pattern! I am still hand sewing the binding on my quilt and sewing my Halloween quilt. Take care--I go back to school tomorrow; finally after Irene!

ReplyDeleteThese apples are one of my UFO's! I went totally crazy for the Cider Mill Road fabric when a local shop was closing out. Got at least 1 yard of the full line for $5/yd. I have the placemats and tablerunner starter, but love everything in the book! Yours looks great, and I love that background fabric. Takes me back to some not so pleasant days when I was in grade school!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog via Mrs. Schmenkman Quilts and fell in love with your Westie! We have one as well, 12 year old Cooper. He doesn't sit on my sewing table but is underfoot at all times (or at least when he's not sound asleep on our bed). They're such a wonderful breed!!!
