I saw this awesome phrase in a print for sale somewhere on Etsy, I think. The phrase really stuck with me!
So, I decided I needed to make it into a pillow for my sewing room. I just printed it on regular white copy paper and pinned it on top of the fabric with fusible interfacing pressed on the back. I stitched through the paper with just a simple straight stitch. Removing the paper before further stitching on the words was not fun…it took forever!!
I should have used the paper piecing paper instead of plain old copy paper as it would have been soooooooooooo much easier to remove!!
After removing the paper, I just freehand stitched over and over until I liked how it looked!! I added that little flower and black jumbo rick rack around the edges!!
I am pleased how it turned out!!
Waddudink?? You like??
What are you working on these days??
It is just plain stinkin cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat am I working on? Well duh, I need to go stitch myself a pillow! I saw this on a friend's blog, and plan to stitch it too: "I don't buy fabric because I like to sew. I sew because I like to buy fabric."
ReplyDeleteJust as cute as can be! What a cool idea! Thanks for sharing!

I am working on my star blocks for the Quilt-A-Long I have joined with Melissa.
Cute!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cute. I think I need one in my sewing room too. Have you ever seen the disolvable stabilizer mostly for machine embroidery. You can run it thru your copy machine, stitch then put it under water and it goes away. It's wonderful and would work great for this kind of thing. I got mine thru Marathon Threads at a quilt show in town.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, and I see it has the "canine paw of approval" too.
