Woke up to this!! Holy Cow!!
Where the heck is spring?
Here in DC suburbs, we so don’t want any more snow!!
The annual Cherry Blossom Festival begins this week here in DC and it’s been so cold, the majority of the trees are not blossoming!!
We are sooooo ready for spring!!
I think we need a new groundhog!!
Of course, the snow does not bother some…
Whatcha sewing on this week??
Yep, I've down in southern Virginia (Hampton Roads) and the snow was sticking last night. Our trees are blooming and daffodils are blooming, but it just can't seem to make up its mind that it is spring! I'll be sewing, but I'm not sure yet on which project. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteBrrr...I can't quite see any cherry blossoms with that weather! I hope it is gone soon.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I don't know if the blossoms would've survived the snow, so maybe it's a good thing they haven't bloomed yet! Hope it warms up soon!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see the Cherry Blossoms. Stay warm!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been in Washington during cherry blossom time several years and the weather was always lovely. NOT what you have today! Hope spring arrives for you soon.
ReplyDeleteHere in eastern South Dakota our plants won't start poking buds out for 2-3 more weeks. And we got snow and cold again last night too - although it really had never left.
We've been reading about all of your snow. Sorry to see such bad weather during what is normally a beautiful Cherry Blossom time.
ReplyDeleteSame view out my window. I'm using my time so far to book a getaway, and make a MAJOR online purchase. Maybe I should have just gone to work??
ReplyDeleteI saw all your snow from some friends on Facebook. We still have about six inches here in MN with 3-4 foot drifts. Its only supposed to be a high of 39 this week. It hasn't gone above forty yet.
ReplyDeleteWoke up to snow here too. We haven't had to worry about the weather making up it's mind -- we've not had a taste of spring yet. For the record, I chose to snooze on the sofa too, but I sure wasn't as comfy as your sofa snoozer, lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm just about to pull fabrics for "bibs". No, no one in our immediate family - a niece is due next month. She doesn't know what she's having so I am just going to use "assorted" fabrics from my stash to make a few bibs.
ReplyDeleteGlad to the cold snow doesn't get Yogi upset. LOL
We live in Conyers, Georgis (30 miles east of Atlanta). It is cold and very windy today! I think the high was around 44. The school children wanted to go outside because it was sunny. This old body said no, so we played inside games instead. I'm not sure about those groundhogs this year.
ReplyDeleteOh! dear!! I think those blossoms will be late this year!!! Don't worry our Autumn is slow in coming this year too, we've had a bit of an Indian summer here, looking forward to the cooler temps!! This week I've been finishing up a few UFO's, so nice to be able to clear the decks a little!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo sad to see you are still snow covered. I live in Portland, OR and our cherry trees flowered this past weekend when the temps hit the 60's. We even had a couple of days of sun. It's funny how much I can get done around the house when the sun makes an appearance. I hope you will not see any more snow this year. I'm sure you are more than ready for some sun & warmer temps in DC.
ReplyDeleteThis week I am working on a very simple tried & true snowball and none-patch quilt. I recently fell in love with a book on 2 block quilts. So nice to do a little mindless sewing for a change.
I live in Oregon and it got up in the 60s today. The bulbs are booming and I wish you had some of our wonderful weather. Your pictures are pretty thou.
ReplyDeleteSaw a cute cartoon where a groundhog is laying with a gun in his 'hands'; said he was despondent over his prediction!!
ReplyDeleteWow Polly, your Spring is slow at getting there. Such a shame about the cherry blossom. I love the photos especially the one of the sleepy puppy on the sofa!
ReplyDeleteCath @ Bits 'n Bobs
Geez, you definitely deserve Spring to arrive ASAP in full bloom. Enough with the storms.
ReplyDeleteHang in their...this has to end soon.

Wow, brrrr, so late for winter weather. Down here in South Australia our autumn was really late in coming. We've had a really hot March and I've had it! Bring on the cool crisp nights and mornings. This Easter weekend has brought it! Happy Easter to you.
